About Doug Helms

A North Carolina native, Doug acquired his love for the mountains through frequent family camping trips, as a child, to the area. He attended Appalachian State University in Boone, NC where he graduated Cum Laude with a Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing. Always the entrepreneur, Doug founded a highly successful business in international trade and quickly learned the key to success is uncompromising customer service. Doug later sold that business, bought a 2nd home in the Highlands area and began investing in local real estate. In addition to land investments, he also began restoring and re-styling homes as well as building new homes for resale, developing a high level of expertise along the way.

 

In 1998, that business became official with a Broker’s License (both in NC & GA) and full time residency in Highlands. With well over $100 million in sales, Doug knows uncompromising customer service is still key to his success.
